Manicures, Foundation, and Blush! Oh my!

OK, I've gotta start off by posting this manicure I just finished:
How cute is this? I'm calling it my Blue Skies Mani.
The accent nail is Sephora by O.P.I Trend Tips - Birds
The nail polish is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Barracuda

Now, on to the meat of the post.
For this review, I created a video in which I discovered I'm rather awkward and long-winded in front of a camera. I will get better at these...
This is the Review And Application For Blog - Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation:

And after the video I decided I just couldn't walk around with a half-finished face.
Add a swipe of gloss, a sweep of blush, and a bit of mascara, and voila: Finished Face.

Thanks for viewing!

Review - Bliss Clog Dissolving Cleansing Milk

So, as you can see from the picture, I've gone through half a bottle of this so I feel adequately prepared to offer a review.

I saw this on a shopping day at Sephora quite some time ago and picked it up for about $30.00.
As someone who has very sensitive, dry, and breakout prone skin, I was really hoping for the best with this product. Unfortunately, my hopes have been dashed and I will continue my search for a Holy Grail (HG) cleanser.

From Sephora,

"This silky, milky enzymatic cleanser deep cleans pores and refreshes skin without upsetting the delicate moisture balance. Skin is left silky soft and fragrantly refreshed with a tangy, citrus scent. The special blend of four light but powerful hydrophilic oils quickly and completely removes makeup and breaks down excess sebum, dirt, and debris, for clean, happy skin"

Silky and milky? Yes.
Cleansing? Not especially.
Even when used with my Clarisonic it still didn't remove all of my makeup and left behind a strange film on my skin. Worse than that, my skin became much redder than normal and I started developing deep and painful blemishes on my chin.

I had also switched moisturisers around the same time and had wondered if, perhaps, it was my new moisturisers (Korres Greek Yoghurt line) that were to blame.
So, I switched cleansers and went to Josie Maran's Argan Cleansing Oil. Voila, the redness calmed down and my skin stopped being reactive to everything I put on it.

I went back to the Cleansing Milk for a few more washes to further test my theory and immediately saw an increase in the inflammation and irritation of my skin, particularly my chin and cheeks. When I got out of the shower after using it today I looked in the mirror and was slightly startled. My entire chin, from the sides of the lips down, was clearly inflamed and red. Seriously, I looked like a True Blood vamp extra between makeup sessions.

Thankfully, a good dose of First Aid Beauty's Anti-Redness Serum and a cold chamomile teabag held to the area brought down a lot of the redness. I don't know if it's the heavy fragrance that has sensitised my skin to that degree but it surely didn't help.

The Josie Maran cleanser may not be my Holy Grail (also fragranced) but it will suffice while I continue the search. The Bliss Clog Dissolving Cleansing Milk will, unfortunately, be relegated to the bins.

Until next time.
